Assignment #9 New Show Formats

Versace For H&M

This Saturday November 19th Versace's Winter 2011 line for H&M hits stores! I happen to be so excited for the release of the line and while I was researching, I came across a video advertising the line. I thought it was a great video to show iconic Versace for H&M. I also loved how Donatella Versace was at the end of the clip. The second video is a short interview with Miss Donatella herself.

I hope everyone is as excited about Versace for H&M as I am!

Assignment #8 Press Kits

Press Kits

In the fashion industry press kits are used as promotional tools to gain business and customers attention. They normally include a folder filled with a press release, a description of their target customers, concept and inspiration on their new line or product, and a promotional item. I once had to do a press kit for a "create your own boutique" project and I learned that the press kit is a huge reflection on the store. One of my favorite press kit's was Fall 2011 Tiffany & Co. USB Flash Drive. It was so creative and different! I absolutely loved how it shows the new age of technology and is so convenient!

Kleinfeld Bridal

Trunk shows are a great way for stores to show collections on a personal and intimate level with their customers. Kleinfeld Bridal is large specialty store located in Chelsea, New York City. Brides travel to the store from all over to find the perfect wedding dress at Kleinfeld. They are known for their exclusive gowns, amazing customer services, impeccable alterations and so much more. 

Their trunk shows include some of the best designers in the bridal industry. Here are a few pictures of Kleinfeld Bridal.

Assignment #6 Inspirational Fashion Videos

Fashion Videos - Gucci

I choose my fashion videos on Gucci. I have always loved Gucci since I was a little girl and I have seen my Mother and Nannie dress in Gucci, it has always been so impressionable to me! Their bags have always been so iconic! Now I look for vintage Gucci bags and shop Gucci's new collections as well. I love that they came out with an adorable children's line and I can not wait to dress my future kids in fabulous Gucci clothes and accessories!

NY Street Trend Assignment #4

Colored Pants

All summer I loved seeing people on the streets wearing brightly colored pants. They have a way of lightening the mood and making others around them smile. I feel as if when you're wearing them its impossible to be in a bad mood. These pants come in all different styles for all different body types. Bright bottoms are so simple and easy such as a pair of jeans, but unlike jeans these bright colored pants say so much and make such a statement!

Assignment #3 NY Times Blog

One of my favorite designers is Tory Burch and she just debuted her first formal runway show on September 13 for Spring 2012. Eric Wilson wrote the NY Times blog post called Tory Burch on Fantasy Island. Naturally I loved the title, it describes Tory Burch's show in a nutshell. 

The show took place in a glass wall lobby at the Alice Tully Hall. The author describes the ascetics as sounds of waves crashing, piano playing and french signing, which just sounds so theatrical. He also writes that when one walks into a Tory Burch Show they almost sense as if someone turned you into an "Upper East Side blonde with a car and a driver, at least for the day." 

As for the collection she did not shy away from color, beading, fringe or prints. There were vintage printed dresses and with lady like, tweed jackets with soft shoulders. All models wore their hair in low, loose pony tails that were parted to the side. 

The author seemed as if he was let down when he had leave the imaginative fantasy world of the Tory Burch Fashion Show.

 "Upper East Side preppy goes to Palm Beach, with a sixties cocktail-party twist—add it all up and you've got Tory Burch."

This collection seemed inspired by Coco Chanel & 1920s era
